Has anyone ever used an electric external oil pump for there oil return line....my oil return line is giving me hell ( it's getting oil build up and i'm burning oil in my exhaust and no the turbo isn't bad.......i just got it rebuilt )and i thought i could use a oil pump to suck the oil out from the turbo and into the oil pan so i will not have any more oil build up in the return line.......what do you guys think? Pic at the bottom of this page!

Description :

Automotive enthusiast's are discovering the benefits of using our scavenge pump. They are powerful enough to pull the oil 30" and more in height from low mounted turbochargers. This is ideal as the oil can then be returned to the engine at a selected point. You can also incorporate an in line cooler to lower temperatures before the oil is returned to the engine, this improves engine and turbo life. These pumps are the same units that were included with our ZX11 turbo kit.

We have supplied major R&D facilities with our pumps

Whoa, that says Wimberly, Tx on it... thats not too far from me.

I'd just rework your drain to be honest. Take a picture of it and post it up.

search for posts by WD_racing, i believe he tried it or some other mod, and it didn't work well, it ended starvin the turbo out of oil and well......a bad turbo came out after that.

tho that could have been that he used a higher flow pump rather than that 1, i can't remember that right though.

There is a post that WD racing tried that. Basically the pump sucked too much oil and starved the bearings.Redo your hoses!

I believe you use a 'sump' with that oil pump...so it'd drains from the turbo by GRAVITY, into a small collector...then the pump would pull the oil form the collector and pump it back into the motor (through the oil cap, or wherever).

The collector would need a breather so that you would NOT apply vacuum to the drain.

If you pull directly form the ruturn line, it will suck oil through the turbo, and kill it like WD's.
