I'm always amused when someone calls Obama black. He's half black, half white. So you could just as correctly call him white.

Yeah...i was kidding man...lol. Of course I don't think it's ok for a political leader of any sort let alone the President to make up his own words...let alone words that sound retarded. If you're going to make some **** up...then make it a good.

Also...being at war with terrorists and then electing a guy named Obama? Yeah doesn't do much to improve how we look in the worlds eyes either.

Was making a joke...

If you haven't ever choked on a pretzel then you don't drink enough beer and eat enough pretzels. If you're worried about what others think so much that you wouldn't tell anyone about something as mundane as that...well I suggest taking a chill pill.

Exactly.

More evidence that the MTV generation probably shouldn't vote.

Let's decide who to vote for based on their ability to eat a pretzel.

That's simply retarded. Put on a helmet.

I've said that exact thing 100 times myself.

There is no winning against a faction that is driven by any type of extreme belief be it religion or otherwise.

you cant win because at the movement's core, are a group of people so devout to their cause, they are not within reach of reason. see: waco, tx; westboro baptist church; ultra orthodox jews in israel.

These groups are different from others because at the heart of their belief is religion. Fighting against religion isnt exactly a winnable fight.

Ironically, he's literally an "African-American" as opposed to what it usually means, which is an American of African descent. What's ironic about it is that he has none, zero, nada, heritage of slavery or legal discrimination in his past. He "represents" blacks about as much as the son of a Scotsman represents me, whose Scottish ancestor arrived here in the 1600s.

I find myself disturbed that 90% of blacks supported him over Hillary, and that his political connections and power derive from the black community in Chicago. But then I realized that if he wanted to go into politics, with his skin color, it was only natural that he turn to black leaders in Chicago for support, such as Rev Wright.

In this country, people will always perceive him to be a black man, never a white man. He can call himself anything he likes - he's still gonna be black. But it would be refreshing if people stopped assuming he has any personal experience with black heritage and black culture. Until he started college, he was known as Barry, the child of white grandparents, for pete's sake.

I'm going to apologize ahead of time because I have not read this thread. I have actually tried to stay out of it. But this is the first thing I've read, don't think I'm picking on you helio.

Obama's politics are huge generalizations. Hope is different for each person and anyone can bring change from the current situation to the next situation. His campaign and his plans are generalizations and usually don't make sense. Kerry's campaign was generalizations with no real talk about specifics of plans. He's also disgraced LBJ in a way, a member of his own party. Obama talks about his way as it is his own idea. Lots of things he's talking about were tried and done by LBJ already. Also, Obama doesn't seem to understand the economy from everything I keep hearing. He will run it into the ground.

And scrolling down just a little, I see talk about the war. Fighting terrorism is a lot like trying to fight communism.

Politics are huge generalizations, period. It's rare when you find a politician who actually uses critical thinking / problem solving. The only analysis most politicians do is related to how they can stay in power.

You've brought a good argument to the forum. I'm only quoting part of your post, the part I disagree with.

Obama is perceived as black because of he chooses to align himself in that manner. He married a black woman, and is raising his family as a black family. (whatever that means). Had he, like Tiger Woods, married a white woman, things might have been different.
