Ive got the Flex-a-lite dual 12 inch fan setup and i wana wire it up in this fashion.

One fan to run all the time (engine running / ignition on) and the OTHER fan to run when the a/c kicks on.

On my previous S13 (93) i had it wired this way and it was all good. I found a wire that went hot with ACC and i also found the hot wire on the harness that runs the oem 10 inch elec fan when i kick the a/c on... All this was done at the fuse panel in the engine bay...

But for some reason on my 98, that same harness that runs the same oem 10 inch elec fan, none of those wires go hot when the a/c kicks over.... But the fan did turn over when the a/c was on...... wierd..!! And i cant seem to find a wire that goes HOT with ACC....

Are these 2 yrs that different..??

DO NOT WORK..!! I have went over it 3 times and none work. The blue/green striped wire ONLY goes hot to 12 volts when the water temp reaches ~205 deg / also when the a/c is turned on...This wire is the relay's (coil) +12v side...

This other BLUE wire is the relay's +12v OUPUT to feed the fan once the relay kicks over.

I dont know where they are getting acc +12v from these wires... Cause it sure as **** aint working on my 98 nor my buddies 95...

If you want to do this correctly, I would get two relays.

One relay goes to your ignition system and powers the fan when you have your car on.

The other goes to your AC system and powers the other when you have it on.

BTW, would anyone be interested in a two-step fan controller in which you can set the turn-on threshold for each fan?

That was my original plan.. To have one fan on with acc / engine running and the other fan to kick over with the a/c..

However, i have yet to find a fuse or wire that goes hot with acc from that fuse panel in the engine bay... My other option is to run a wire 2 the fuse panel inside which i dont wana do..

The S14 uses a switched GROUND wire to power up the relays...the other small wire going to the relay (opposite / across from the blue/green wire) is hot with the ignition, and always on with the key (but not +12v IIRC).

And that gounded wire activates the fan at a certain temp...AND powers up when the A/C kicks on.

There are 2 relays (high and low), and both should kick on when the A/C is on...

Well if that relay is pushing that single 10 incher, i wonder how much amperage its pulling..?? Guess i would have to monitor it to see...

My dual 12's pull 19.5 amps... I wonder if that relay can support this much current..
