For the past month (maybe less) i have been hearing a ding every time i hit a bump in my coupe. The ding was coming from the front left wheel. I took my coupe to my parents house the other day to take a look at it. We attempted to tighten the 2 master strut bolts. They were solid. My dad told me i was crazy and i went home.

This week i was in a bumpy part of town and heard the dinging really bad. I took my coupe back over to my parents house and we took the tire off. We did not do that before as it was dark out last time. We found this

Well thats the bottom of the spring. the spring is broken. I will be emailing stillen in hopes of getting a new spring. If its not free - BC coil overs here i come!!!!

im wondering that same question myself? I got the springs on the first eibach group buy. When the heck was that guys?

My coupe has 20,000 miles on it and id say the springs have about 15,000 miles.

Good point with the rust! I think all the salt, snow, water, and weather had an aid in the rusting.

This makes Me skeptical about my Springs. The only thing that i can think of that might of caused this is a defect in the manufacturing. Get ahold of stillen tell them what happened and im sure theyll be able to get you a new spring for free. The Spring breaking off like that put you and your car in danger.

Id say dont worry about your springs. I was doing 90 mph yesterday and everything was fine. I even drove it today. The ride is a little bumpier - no shock absorption.

I emailed stillen today, if i dont get a response back by monday ill call them on tuesday. Hopefully i get a free spring!

Funny thing is how we found out that the spring was broken. We had the wheel off and couldnt find out what was making the noise. so i start feeling around the spring and i see it chilling there sitting on the strut. i was like wtf.

Hopefully this gets fixed soon!

I'm thinking about just putting my OEM springs back on. Nothing bad about the Eibachs here, just the crappy Nova Scotian roads . No one suspects the non-lowered OEM wheels turbo altima, lol... ugh *face palm*.

One of mine is starting to make a squeak...But I don't think Stillen would have anything to do with it, they just sell the parts. Eibach is who you should probably be contacting.

Jose 3.5 is it the rear that's squeaking? because it could be your rear shocks... because mine are starting to squeak which can give the illusion of the spring squeaking.

My shocks are starting to squeak as well. We all knew that installing the Eibach springs and mounting them on the OEM strut/shock might or might not have any some sort of problems in the future. The spring totally breaking is a different issue. My guess is Danny got really drunk again and picked up some really fat girl (who he thought was a supermodel) and gave her a "ride" in his coupe, hence why his spring broke.

I can honestly say that I have never seen this before! I have used Eibach's on my daily driver's, and my desert beater's and we've been selling these for YEARS and I have never seen a coil just break off like this...We will get in touch with Eibach immediately and see what's going on.

I'm not an expert but when you change to Eibach or even coil overs did you change the OEM bushings. I heard you can wear those out sooner and you need to change the bushings to polyurethane bushings, just throwing it out there bc I want to lower my AC and don't want these issues to show up.

Well i finally got around to changing my broken spring. Not sure why i waited 2.5 months to change it. Maybe because i didnt have my car for 60 days but what ever.

We started today at 1:30 and finished at 4pm. Id say thats not 2 bad for the 2nd time around. We also rotated my tires.
