I have installed my eibachs and tokikos. I have not had the chance to drive it much since I am still have some work to do. I have finished a once over with Fine Cut cleaner, and now need to use the Swirl Remover the pearl is starting to come out.

Then onto seat repair

I didnt like the lowered look at first, but it is growing on me, I think I really need some 18s. Too much tire sidewall vs gap right now

nice........i'll be doing the same thing too.......mind if i ask you a question? will you be installing an adjustable links and rods too? i'm afraid we need to use adjustables to compensate for changed suspension geometry, what do you think?

What needs to be done is replace the upper link and the third link so that everything that controls camber is new then you can shim upper link out with washers.

Q45 tech suggests getting an aligment and then using trig to figure out what washer thickness you need. I plan on throwing .125 in shim washers all around first then getting an aligment.

You can also get a kit made specifically for this

http://www.splparts.com/Parts/...k.jpg

I plan to forgo the SPL type upper links as it requires solid tension rods, and then if you hit a curb (wife driving) its is going to bend. I am not going for all out handling but if you really want that then it will really increase your steering response, but you are going to feel it.

My current plan is to just do the washers and replace the other suspension parts later (OEM) when I get new rims, and an get another alignment. I can tell its way out of camber just looking at it, it will be interesting to see how long these brand new 680 tread wear tires last. Hopefully not long as I can then justify rims to the wife

Too get it perfect you basically need to repalce ever piece of rubber in the front in, shim with washers and get an aligments. It all depends on how close you want to get to perfect. Dependeing on how bad of shape the rubber is and how bent the shock towers are, the shims should at be able to get you close to how good it was before you lowered in the camber department

thanks for the tip man....i think it's more expensive if we're going at alignment shops everytime you change something, that's why i wanna do it all in one time. is the lower arm contains bushings too?

out of topic, actually my family lives in folsom about 5 miles from you right? i use to stay there for a couple months.....studying for the board exam...

Yeah its more expensive to do multiple alignments unless you can find a place that has a warranty, then you can take it back

Yep Folsom is right up the highway 50 from me

Now you need to add the Q45active rear 20mm sway bar to finish the job works especially nice with Eibachs.

If you find a wreck get the smaller front 28mm active or T car bar also it will help to offset the front added stiffness [from Eibachs] and make the rear bar act like it is 13% stiffer. Making the front softer is just like making the rear stiffer RATIOWISE.

All about front vs rear roll stiffness going over bumps and turning in a curve.

Lowering definitely makes stock-sized wheels look even smaller, especially in front. Your BBS wheels are otherwise beautiful.

Nice drop man! That IPQ looks stunning too! Like Dennis said, it would definitely benefit from a 20mm rear sway. I'd also upgrade the wheels at some point.

Thanks for the comments

I would love to have those Work 19's, just a little out of my price range 400 bucks more then I paid for the car

I have the front and rear active sways bars so I should be good to go once I get it aligned and get some wheels, I like the murano 18s.

I like the BBS wheels they are just too small, they are nicest stocks wheels the G50 came with IMO, are they worth anything? I noticed the caps go for 40 on ebay maybe I will just sell those

Definitely need wheels. There are tons of used Infiniti and Nissan wheels our there, and for cheap, I think a set of G35 coupe 18" Rays would look very nice.

The rays are nice, I like the blocky look of the muranos though, and they go cheap

Remember that you have a $50K+ (1995) car that was heavily discounted based on deferred maintenance and depreciation when you bought it. It is still a $50K car when you buy parts or pay for labor.

19" would leave you with too thin a tire and too low a load rating. A few strong and light forged 18" are out there of the right offset and wheel width.

I bet the Murano are heavy, and they are a little narrow. Very few race cars with panzer style wheels on them.

If shipping wasn't soo much, I'd offer you a trade deal ... my 18" Muranos for you 15" BBS and some cash.

The muranos are heavy especially compared to these 15" BBS wheels. However they will fit a 245/45/18, of which proper load rated tires are plentiful. They also are of correct offset. Sure it used to be a 50K car. Doesnt mean I want put 5k rims on it

I do my own labor, parts have not been much more if at all more expensive then other cars I have owned (Nissan, Honda, Ford, BMW, Volvo) When you buy parts online from the dealers they are all pretty close.

But to each thier own, I will be happy with muranos. It will see no track time just to and from work

Yeah I would do that deal in second, how much is shipping?

The car looks great!

You'll be able to get the alignment fine on stock suspension, the main thing that needs to be adjusted is the toe, the camber and caster differences dont really matter that much, as far as day to day handling and tire wear its not gonna matter much.

I went hardcore with my suspension because i drive my Q harder than most people.. My Q sees more track time than probably every other Q on this board combined.

You can look for some 02-05 Q45 rims too in 18" size, those were pretty nice. Don't forget the FX rims fit too.

There are plenty of 19" rims with good load ratings, I have some 96 and there were 98 load ratings in 19" size....but for this ride a set of 18" would be just right. It looks good lowered!! The 94' was my favorite year in first gen.

Still is. Are you getting any special deals on parts or labor based on its present market value?

In fact, Nissan has raised many parts prices for the G50 recently.

Very good wheels can be had new for $1300 - $$2600. Part of cost to upgrade to current day specifications.

Yeah I will stick with 18's. 19's look nice but the lower profile tires would compromise the ride even more and tires are more .

Thanks for the info Wes, I plan on getting that done soon.

So do the Muranos have tires? We still might be able to make this work

Hey bmwkiller, what does that mean "I accept Paypal but NOT if you are using a credit card"? Are you talking about people that just run their card through Paypal or if you have a credit card linked to the account to supply funds if you don't have enough in your account? Most of the time I buy something it comes from my credit card as that's linked to the account.

Please explain. If I buy one of your items it would be linked to my credit card through my normal paypal account.

For me to take credit card payments through Paypal, I would need to 'upgrade' to a merchant account. At that point, Paypal would then charge me a percentage on every transaction, regardless of whether or not it was with a credit card. It's just not worth it to me, for the sake of one or two transactions with a card, to pay a fee on every other transaction. I don't know how the linked-card thing works. I'll look into it.

I dont think that if you paid via linked credit card you would have any way of knowing if the funds came from a credit card or bank account. I paid with credit for years and i never had an issue.

As a buyer, no, it wouldn't be a problem. As a seller, its different. The fee to accept a credit card payment is minimal, but it's the way Paypal screws you that sucks. Once you set up a merchant account, they then take a percentage of EVERY transaction, not just the ones using a credit card.As far as the linked-card, this is all I've found on Paypal's site...

"Personal accounts may not receive payments funded by credit card, debit card or Buyer Credit for eBay or eBay Express transactions without upgrading to Premier or Business accounts."

They don't distinguish between a linked card or a one time payment.Sorry guys (and gals?).

You mean somehow you can get past the 3% paypal surcharge? Id like to know about that.

Thats very interesting, they definitely have changed it since I first got paypal years ago. Apparently now wheny ou sign up for a new account they make you put a bank account in, right?
