So I was wondering why my car was drifting left and checked, realizing my driver side rear spring is collapsed. So if I take it and put it back together, will it be fixed? I prob been driving around for a couple weeks like that.

What do you mean by "collapsed"? Did the spring physically break?

If so this is the second one now. This comes as a bit of a suprise coming from a company like Eibach. :ohno:

Not sure, I have to take it apart in the morning. Its basically almost fully compressed, making the car lean slightly. Its like if you made a fist and put three knuckles together instead of the obvious open spring.

I think this is the 3rd eibach problem encountered.

Guys wait till I take it apart and assess the problem. It could of been an installation problem since I had no experience with suspension before and my bro in-law is a meathead lol. If is was just an Eibach problem I will be very dissapointed :tisk:

Watching this one...Ive been having issues with drifting, swim, and vibration and no one can figure out whats wrong. I would actually be HAPPY at this point if I found out it was a bad spring.

Address the issue with eibach (stillen may be able to help if you bought it from them) and post the results here.

If they fix it, theres no issues, if they dont, then people will wonder...

In for the results. Although it is possible, spring failure is pretty rare.

Ok so the diagnosis is a bad installation. My meathead bro in-law put the rear one he did upside down. This caused the spring to settle a little weird and look messed up. I talked to Stillen and was told it should be fine if its fixed and put in right, so that's what I did. So far so good, still drifting left on highway very slightly because it needs to settle right.

ive got them on the sentra but i cant remember how long it took for them to settle.
im still worried about something happening to them or my struts, etc....wish i could afford coilovers.

I drive 50+ miles a day on mine. I actually had my entire front end checked out because of the issues Im having. They said all was good and that the problem was negative camber in the rear. However, I was under the impression that negative rear camber actually HELPS handling?

I dont know, completely at a loss right now. Ive posted numerous times here and all of the great advice Ive received was not the problem, had 2 mechanics (including Nissan stealership) check her out and no one can give me a valid answer.

Negative camber helps handling if it's properly matched on both sides. If there's a mismatch in camber alignment, then you'll have issues like the ones you're describing.

I'm willing to bet that because of the spring being mounted improperly and broken in that it will be a long while before you see any change to the better from reinstalling, that being IF it ever actually corrects itself. Not trying to be pessimistic, but you might have to order a new pair of springs. You're going to have to buy new tires soon if you keep driving it in that way, and the potential long term damage beyond that will push your shocks and struts and other suspension components to wear outside of their design specifications.

Good luck though... I hope you get it resolved soon.

I dont think that mine were installed improperly, I actually had a very reputable shop put them in. I still need to check on a few other things such as if I might have a bad hub but I really hope I dont get into a situation like you describe above. It was the Nissan techs that told me that the rear camber was bad. I had been getting the car aligned elsewhere, had it done twice as recommended since the spring install. They are telling me the alignment is correct, however the Nissan techs seem to feel that the camber is bad BUT they didnt actually align the car. I think Im going to bring the car to yet a 3rd shop and have them check it out top to bottom.

That was me! It snapped when i was driving. I think i hit a super pothole at speed. Yup they sent me a new set with in a week. The new set is sitting in my storage closet still waiting to be installed. Ill be driving to carlisle on a busted spring lol. There is is my excuse for not auto crossing! Or maybe because i am a *****!
