I ordered a rear camber kit from tirerack because ever since I installed the Eibach Pro Kit Springs my rear rims have been sticking out a lil bit like this /. Here is what happen to my tires.

Image

My question is if anyone here has installed the rear camber kit and if you have could you kinda explain the process because if its something easy I rather do it myself than pay to have it done. The kit is just a whole bunch of bolts and nuts.... I've looked online for instructions but couldn't find anything. Thanks for the help

If you look at the rims they don't even look like their sticking out that much but the tire says something else lol... and its only on the driver side.

If you're suspension savy or if you can install coils you're probably okay doing it on your own. You probably just needed an alignment to bring your toe in to spec. I ran slammed on bc coilovers with stock wheels / tires for about 9 months and still have no camber wear

About 3000 but I got them used when I bought the rims and they needed to be changed but I got 3k out of them. They were BF Goodrich 225/35/19

I did the Eibach Pro Kit installation myself with the help of a friend. Idk how difficult it would be to installed the camber kit

Did you get an alignment after you installed the springs? Even then, you said the tires were pretty much done before you got them...

if the tires were already cambered before you got them, then that might contribe to your slight angle'd wheels. when you replace the wheels, you should get an alignment done to fix as much of the camber as you can. check your tires for uneven wear and if they still look like you're getting camber, then you should think about getting the kit.
BF Goodrich 235/25/19
damn those are some tiny tires, i'm on 235/40/19 and feel like my tires are still too small.

The tires were just used. They had normal wear on then entire tire. The tire size was 225/35/19 sorry!

well, I guess i haven't been checking lately, but my rears have some uneven wear. On the inside of the tire its almost to the little stub that signifies it needing to be replaced :-0 These tires have 10k miles on them, and shouldn't be worn that much. The fronts look fine from what I can tell, but that's a bummer, I may be getting the camber kit.

The front are fine is just the back ones, the driver side is worst than the passenger.

alright thanks man. Was the install hard? or was it a matter of just unbolting and putting in the new bolt while the car is jacked up?

kinda pisses me off just because everyone is always like "nah you don't need a camber kit for the eibachs, it's not enough camber to hurt anything". well it is lol The full front and rear kit is like $80 shipped and new tires are $180-$200 a piece, so yeah the joke's on me for not trusting my gut and getting the kit to begin with. I thought I have been checking them enough and I have never noticed, even when I rotated 4k miles or so ago I didn't notice anything.

Are you all getting alignments after your spring installations? I have had my Eibachs for 1.5 years running on the same tires with only 1 front to back rotation and have no uneven tire wear whatsoever. However, I have had 4-5 alignments in that time period. I drive 50 miles roundtrip a day 5 days a week as well, you do the math.

I actually didn't get an alignment, what happened, was that the dealership effed up one of my stock wheels while they were installing my A34s by being carless and dropping it on the face and refused to fix it or acknowledge that they did it in the first place. So after that I said I wasn't going to let them work on my car ever again. So basically I totally forgot about the alignment and just when you said that made me remember....so maybe I screwed myself on this deal by forgetting.

I puchased the Firestone lifetime alignment on sale for $120 the day after I installed my springs. Aligned the car that day, 1 month later, and I try to do it once every spring and once every fall. I would look into it, just make sure you find a Firestone that does quality work.

$100 for an alignment sound fair? It's at the dealer but I really don't trust the crap shops around here.

So basically with a alignment I would get rid of this camber issue or would I still need the camber kit? Because if I don't need it then I'll just send it back lol and get an alignment

In my experience, yes an alignment should help. If you never once aligned the car after installing springs that would be the first thing I would do.

$100 Is a little steep in my opinion.

Don't wait. Do it the same or next day. Understand you are dismantling your suspension, its not going to go back in aligned. Then align it again in about a month once the springs have had time to settle in.

Yeah, that looks like what happens if you don't get it aligned after.

*Update

Got an alignment two days ago and rear toe was way off which is what caused my accelerated wear. The fronts were fine. I'm just on eibachs, but after seeing the results of not getting an alignment I would have to say it's almost mandatory. I'm now going to have to buy at least two tires sooner than expected.

learn from my mistakes!

One cannot stress too much the importance of regular rotation, alignment, and balancing.
