Just a quick update. Did my first alignment today. I am not sure how anyone gets the front into spec wihtout the bolts or the camber kit. I am currently sitting at negative 2 degrees. WIll be getting the camber arm bolts after Labor Day weekend.

Looks great and was gonna get this kit. Unfortunately not anymore. The wifey would destroy the front bumper with this kit.

Nice!

I got the Eibach prokit for my '04 Maxima back in '05. They know how to get the car to the right height and I was keeping up with awd subaru STIs at the Tail of the Dragon. I haven't taken my M yet, but my last car did pretty well, a lowered IS300 with a turbo kit.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the dragon:

over 300 turns in 11 miles.

Thanks for the heads up. My girlfriend used to go during Z days with her g35 friends. She now drives a QX... yes, we are Nissan/Infiniti freaks. I'll be looking out for the next meet.

cjrdriven: Thanks for posting the pictures. I am trying very hard to leave the M alone, but those pictures are stirring up the mod temptations again.

Car has had time to settle a wee bit more. I will have to take a few more pics and post in the next couple days. I am still very very happy with the change. Car just looks so agressive and sporty and the ride is still better than it was stock in my opinion.

How good/bad are the roads around where you live? I also want to do a subtle drop if I get an M but living in the greater NYC area and driving 22k+ miles a year, it's something I have to worry about.

Decent, but not terrific. In the Nashville area so always seems we have tons of construction going on. And to your point of also wanting to do a subtle drop. The eibachs are not a subtle drop so you should definitely consider something else.

You really think the car rides better than stock? Lol that alone makes me want the Eibachs now.

06x, if you want a subtle drop, then you might be better of with the Tein H Springs..someone on here recently showed pictures of his drop with them...i think their name is "gibbz"

Yep, that is my opinion and my wife's lol. Others on the board seem to say Eibachs are a little stiffer than stock, but not by much. I am not sure if they were coming from the OEM sport springs though? More than willing to give test rides to anyone around the Nashville area to validate my claims! :)

The only down side I have had is clearance issues on large speed bumps and steep driveways. The look alone makes those items barely worth mentioning though. :bigthumb:

I don't know if subtle was the right word, but I meant I don't want a slammed/bagged/vip look for a daily driver. I looked up the Eibachs and it's supposed to be a 1.5-1.7" drop in the front? That sounds pretty good to me.

Ya, but those numbers are not that accurate. I am dropped more than that on front and rear.

How much did you drop? Or what's your ground-to-fender height now?

Did this last night, but forgot to post, so from memory. Ground to fender 26.2 inches front and 26.6 inches rear. Might not be exact, exact, but close.

thats a great way to find out the 'actual drop' figures...I measured my car last night and I am getting it lowered today...I will compare the two measurements once I get my car back.

Did you ever get the camber bolts and get your alignment done?

Here are pics to compare the rear. First pic is before drop, second is 1 day after drop and 3rd is after a month to settle with Pilot Sport PS2's added. :)

Yes I did. Finished with my second alignment now. I am still a little out of spec at 1.4 in the rear and 1.5 in the front. Not horrible, but still have some tweaking to do to get it where I want it, around 1.2ish or so.

Other's have said they can get the rear into spec with just OEM adjustment. I was only able to get the rear to negative 2.0 with OEM adjustment. We had to mill the rear to give more room for adjustment which took me down to 1.4. I think the high side of spec on the rear is 1.3, so I am still just a hair off with a full tank of gas.

nice pix!!! I love that rear/side shot -- the spacers of choice = 15mm really makes the wheels/tires flush to the fender.....NICE!!!!

Two Month Spring Review:

I still love these springs and I still 100% believe they provide a softer ride than OEM Sport Springs until you hit corners and get aggressive. They sit almost as close to the tire as you can get without being tucked. Close to a perfect drop. I have only had a few times when I scraped the splash guard under the front engine and I can still get over moderate speed bumps just fine if I go slow.

Took an 800 mile road trip and was smooth and firmly planted with no issues or bottoming out. Also loaded the car down with 4 people and still never bottomed out.

With the drop, spacers, OEM sport skirts, bumper, rear diffuser and rims; it gives the M a very aggressive and sportluxo look. I get more compliments now in the M than I did in my modified G coupe. Still surprises me how often people come up to comment on the M and ask questions about it.

Happy camper!

look'n clean!!! nothing like a nice drop. :dblthumb:

btw cjdriven, since I lowered my car and added spacers, i was told by my wheel/tire guy that it's a good idea to retorque the lug nuts weekly -- or depending on driving style...just curious if you do so as well...

After the first install and post week torque, I now only retorque them when I have the tires rotated. That's all. Never had an issue with the eibach spacers on my previous car losing any torque.

However, some would say better safe than sorry. So do what makes you comfortable. :)

got it...that was the line I was going with....I just didn't want to spend my afternoons retorquing...LOL. short trips to and from work is all i do.

I really want to drop my '08 M45 Sport, I just put in a set of 22" and the gap is not much in the rear but is on the front. I have had experience lowering with eibachs and they really change your cars look and performance( cornering, take off, etc.) Had my Turbo plymouth laser on an eibach sportline kit back in the day. It was about 2.5/2.0" drop I believeI My main concern is rubbing the front on turns now that I have 22"'s. I had seen a discussion on this where one of you guys had 22"'s and the pro kit from eibach so I'm looking to confirm that info... :gotme

it all depends on width of your rims, offsets, and tire sizes. Post that up and some of us might know if that'll work or not.

I believe wheels are 22x8.5, tires 245/30/22 all around not sure on offset?
I'll get the exact specs on the wheels and tires tomorrow and post it up! :mike

I went to the wheel shop to get specs on my wheel setup. 22x8.5, +45 offset, 245/30/22 rubber all around! Started to get quotes on the eibach pro kit installed and I got a great price(Ithink) $477 no camber though...still not sure if I will do it..almost 5 bills for something that will burn my tires quicker and not have proper alignment just for a little added drop stance?? Took some pics to show the spacing and gap in the wheel well. Maybe some of you guys can tell me if I'm crazy for wanting a drop? Opinions wanted!! :poke:
