Anyone bottom out or scrap on the conveyor tracks??? I'm curious because a had a prokit on my 03' Alti and I had to hand-wash it ever since I got the pro-kit installed

I have not taken my car to the car wash. Are you crazy.

I hand wash it each and every time.

the track is death to wheels on low profile tires. also, wouldn't you rather wash your car yourself than have some rubber flaps slapping up against your paint. just a thought

felv8, my vote goes with the first two responders. I would not trust my a/c to any car wash. I once saw a new high dollar luxery car get it's paint gouged out for several inches in a car wash. I like washing my own car and waxing it too. Besides I have never seen an automated car wash that really does a first rate job cleaning a car.

For those that are in a climate that don't warrant a hand wash year round, a carwash is inevitable at some point.

I took my car to a car wash soon after I installed my Prokit. It wasn't a conveyor type. It was an automatic wash where you pull up onto a plate. I still had a rough time. I'd think that a full-on car wash with a conveyor would not be very pretty on a lowered car.

haha, generally I would agree.. and don't get me wrong, I do wash my car myself on ocassion, but I found a pretty solid carwash place around where I work. The place has gotten great reviews from all my coworkers who vouch for it with their bimmers and infinitis. I'm still kind of skeptical to even try it after an eibach drop, but I think the stock rims/tires would hold up well.

it's not the drop you have to worry about as the car wash floor is flat like the road (most roads). you only have to worry about how much rubber you have between your wheel and the ground. too little will cause your wheel to rub the track for the length of the track. go buy some microfiber and do it yourself dude. it's the freakin' summer time!

you should definately hand wash it, about 10 years ago here in dayton , some dude drove his car into one of those automatic car washes with the beater brushes, someone the night before had gone into the car wash and attached a bunch of fishing line weights ( you know the little lead weights) to the brushes, anywho, needless to say the car got extremally jacked up,

im not saying that a situation like that is common, but still, those brushes are still just slapping the hell out of your car over and over, and is scoring the paint, so hand wash it or go to a brushless automatic.

I would listen to my gut feeling. You might drop Eibach an email and ask what their opinion is. This question may have come to their attention before.

I'll never go to an auto wash again. I went with my Ranger a few years ago and the guy bleached my black paint and etched my windows with whatever I told him not to spray on it. I threatened a lawsuit and they repainted my truck and replaced the windshield.

Underpaid people who barely understand you just trying to make a few tips = not giving a sh$t about our cars. Just hand wash it

Im ashamed to say it, but ive been to a few... there wont be clearance issues (or atleast i didnt experience any)... the quality of the wash and materials used are garbage though...

LongBeach,

your rims didn't scratch/rub at all???

I guess the trick is to go earlier in the morning before all the dirt&grime builds up from other cars... and hand washing of course!

So far, I went once without eibachs and stock wheels, and it worked like a charm. Maybe I'll try those self wash stations, because I don't have access to a water hose in my apartment complex

Depending on where you are in the country, you can go to car washes that are completely open and brushless - i think down in South Carolina the system was called a "Laser" wash or something. Basically a giant mechanical hose thingy sprays your car with soap, water, polish, etc, and the it gets blown dry. Nothing but liquids touch your car.

the only problem with the brushless car washes is that they leave the car rather dirty
