hi, just to let you know i did use the search function but came up with endless results of nothing;]. i am looking to get the eibach pro kit for my s13 hatch, and would like to keep costs down. is it 100% required that i replace the shocks? i want somewhat of a decent ride, not teeth-rattling bumpiness. and if it is a must to replace the shocks, what would be the cheapest setup while still mainting some quality? about 1.5 inches lower is what i want, and i think the prokit will give me that. thanks.

from suggestions given by other members, i get the idea it is strongly recommended that you go ahead and get new shocks with your springs. while the prokit does not increase stiffness really, it will make the shock work on a shorter stroke, and you should have a shock designed for this. if you do not replace it at the same time as the new springs, you will be doing so sometime after anyway, because the springs will wear out your stock shocks much more quickly. you could do it all now, and save a little on labor.

i havnt looked around for price differences, but the kyb agx shocks seem like a very good choice and are adjustable, a lot of member use that combination. tokico also has nice shocks for these springs, but i dont think the are adjustable.

The Pro-Kit will likely not drop the car the full 1.5" but I would still replace the dampers. If you are going to have the whole thing torn apart, you might as well do the dampers and put in something that is designed for lowered springs. They will hold up better and perform better.
