The drop looks great..............

I am thinking of doing the same thing but have a few concerns that maybe some of you can answer for me, before I make my decision.

1. I called stillen today about a camber kit for the 2008 3.5 altima coupe. they have not yet seen one come out, so my question?.......... are you guys seeing extensive tire wear?

2. Any squeaks coming from the new spring prior to lowering your car?....

3. I am running 20" wheels....... those of you with 20" wheels, any rubbing?

4. Road noise ?....... did the road noise increase much with the drop ?............

5. Ride ?........... about the same as before?........... or worse?

Thanks you guys any input would be welcome.

Mike

1. I called stillen today about a camber kit for the 2008 3.5 altima coupe. they have not yet seen one come out, so my question?.......... are you guys seeing extensive tire wear? I PROBABLY PUT MORE MILES ON MY CAR THAN ANYONE WITH THE DROP... NO ISSUES WITH TIRE WEAR

2. Any squeaks coming from the new spring prior to lowering your car?.... NO

3. I am running 20" wheels....... those of you with 20" wheels, any rubbing? ITS NOT THE SIZE OF THE WHEEL, RATHER THE OFFSET/WIDTH THAT CAUSES IT.. IM ON 245/35/20 +38 WITH no rubS

4. Road noise ?....... did the road noise increase much with the drop ? SLIGHTLY, BUT MY BIG TIRES ACCOUNT FOR MOST OF IT

5. Ride ?........... about the same as before?.sAME? HAHAHA.. 3X BETTER!

Thanks you guys any input would be welcome.

1. Look at the rear camber on my readout sheet. It is possible to get it within spec without the use of a camber kit. My mechanic said that if some one couldn't, it's only because they don't know there way around the end of a wrench.

2. No squeeks so far, but they've only been on a few days now. What i do notice now is every single bump in the road, no matter how small.

3. I got stockers...will prolly never roll with 20's

4. Zero increase of road noise.

5. Ride feels ALOT tighter when turning, but again i stress that i feel every single bump in the road. The lifting of the front end on launch and hard acceleration has all but been eliminated.

These are my impressions...your mileage may vary.

Thanks for the feed back.............. Every thing sounded good up to where you said.................. you now feel every little bump in the road. not what I had in mind with the lower springs, I just might have to pass on this mod.

Any other feed backs ?............ come on guys I know lots of you have done this, lets here from you. I really like the looks of the drop but do not want to sacrifice the ride with having to feel every little bump on the road. Also, I would like to hear more feed back from those of you who have 20" wheel with the eibach pro kit.

Thanks everyoneMike

Same.

I don't want to sacrifice that much ride quality. Especially since I'm going to be putting 19" rims on my Coupe.

That sheet really has no credibility though. Its not the over/under numbers developed to represent the a/c, those numbers are programmed for a 4 door, heavier car. Weight distribution and camber are going to be affected differently.

I know the over under numbers aren't gonna be accurate, but if you look at the actual value's of the rear camber (-0.9 and -1.0 degrees) you'll see that it's possible to have the drop done without affect camber too much. That's all I was trying to point out.

Ok, ok…I did the Eibach-Pro upgrade and here are my immediate findings. Remember I came from a “Mini Cooper S” riding perspective, and with that car you hear every road noise, every bump and even the small pebble. Ok so why am I saying this. According to members…mhm1170, and leifab .. they were concerned about road noise and ride..

Well compared to the Mini cooper, the Altima ride is still by far much better even with the drop. The ride in general is fantastic. Handling is better but only had it for less than 100 miles for driving. I will give better report once I get the springs settled. So, anyone thinking about the drop and the ride…Just DO IT>>>

Stock wheels and tires on the beast for now, but plan to move up to 18 after I get my suspension done.

rsb ?..............wht does rsb stand for?...... just out of curiosity, what was the group buy price. I just received my eibach pro kit from the tire rack............. $212.00 no sales tax 19.00 shipping total came out to $231.00

Tuffmag, I am running 20" wheels with 245/35/20 tires, the ride is not bad at all considering the 20" wheels but I really don't want it to get any worse with the eibach pro kit. I am thinking about just dropping the front end 1.5" to see how it looks and feels/drives.

Any one out there have any thought on just dropping the front end and leaving the rear with the stock springs?.......... to me, the front end looks higher then the rear, I just measured.................... the front end is definitely higher.

after about 75 miles i found the ride to be much more responsive. there is no longer the dive when applied brakes hard, and the acceleration issue with the front end is gone. Update on the feeling of the road has not changed. It is a little bit stiffer in the ride but a trade off that is well worth it in the curves.

So, IMHO have the drop was a great move on my part. Now for the next step with the RSB...
