Trying to make some decisions on my AC. I need tires so I thought this would be a good time to make some changes. Would like to be as economical as possible while presenting the best look. Probably going to plastidip my OEM rims flat black. That said, would the 18s look too small if I lowered the car on springs? Leaning toward the TEINs but wonder if the drop is too severe with 18s? Last question, should I go with 225/45/18 tires over 235/45/18? Again, wondering if this would make the wheels appear too small with the drop. Opinions/pics would be greatly appreciated!

are you getting springs or coilovers? With the springs it will make the rims look smaller, but what will really stand out to you is how deep our rims go into the fender...that is what will be super pronounced and will look a bit off....its not flush at all. The tire size will honestly be no different unless you buy rims.

Whether or not 18's would look to small on a lowered coupe is subjective. However, if you lower the car on 18's that have a large lip, the 18" wheels will appear smaller than they actually are. Lowering the coupe on the factory 18's doesn't look small IMO. :)

Thanks for the replies! I do have OEM 18s but am probably going to plastidip them black. Not sure if that will make a difference in the wheel size appearance or not. And I am getting springs. Actually just ordered Tein S-Techs this afternoon. In considering the 235 to 225 tire size, I am wondering if the 225 tire would help give the wheel a larger appearance? Considering the tire sidewall would be smaller. Am a bit concerned about going with a 225 since its width is 8.85 and the stock 235's width is 9.25.

235s will make the overall diameter of the wheels appear larger than the 225s. However, slaming a car using the right wheel/tire combo will make the setup appear larger in most causes.
