In the past month 50/35 tint, shaved trunk lid, a great deal and shipping time from Stillen on the Injen and Eibach. Saturday the Injen went on, nice and easy install but I need to trim the heat shield cuz it rattles/buzzes when car is cold and in reverse. No big deal but I don't want the shield to touch the battery or the wire loom that runs by the battery. Search "Injen vid w/sound".
The springs, ah the springs. The springs went on yesterday. Got a buddy that owns a shop and he let me borrow a lift and spring compresser. Started at the RF. This was a self install and things were going smoothly til it was time to put the new spring together with the strut. Whew, what a PIA!!! The spring comp'r looks like a 5' press where there is a worm gear at the top that spins down to compress the spring that is held with 3 metal fingers top and bottom. It took me at least 10 times to compress and loosen until all parts meshed perfectly. The left front took about 5x. Took me 2 1/2 hrs to do the fronts. 20 minutes for both rears, LOL. I get an alignment tomorrow. Noticed a lot less nose dive during braking, much flater corners, tighter tracking. Before springs the car seemed to drift like the tires were filled to 100 psi.
Big thanks to windhaven for his documentation on spring replacement, Ray @ Great Escape Auto, Kyle @ Stillen for the GB
