Hey there,

So, I posted a while ago on this, but can't find the thread?? Weird. Anyhow, I'm wondering if my car needs new struts, or if what my car is doing is NORMAL for Eibach drop springs.

Overall, I LOVE the look and stance of my car. It sits PERFECT (although another 1/3" lower wouldn't hurt ;) ). But, the front suspension tends to bounce over bumps and pot holes. It seems very... springy. The rear seems fine, but it's the front that I am not thrilled with.

So the question is: Is this normal for Eibach springs? Or, are my struts shot? The car has 88k on it.

Thanks,
George

Are they the original struts? If so, I'd say, yeah it's time to replace all four (even though the back may be okay, you might as well do it).

The OEM struts aren't intended for use with lowering springs, so by using them, their wear rate was increased.

I Figured, thanks. Are there better struts I can use that won't be 'punished' like the OEM ones?

Not really...I think KYB is your only choice and they are OE replacements. I mean, don't get me wrong, the springs don't 'punish' the struts, but the struts weren't designed for those springs. Coilovers are a match pair...which is why, if maintained, they last longer.

Agreed, likely blown out struts!
