well to anyone looking at this im new to the z forums.... i generally stay on the ca18 forums....but have decided to wonder up here.....

i am about to purchase my first zthe car:1978 Datsun 280zOriginal L28 motorOriginal interior w/ only problem being a cracked dash covered up with a new cover, missing head liner, and carpets need to be cleanedMinimum rust....All original factory nissan glassodo: 73587....and the biggy, has never rolled over!!! original mileage hasnt hit 100,000

i am buying the car from the second owner of the vehicle, he has owned the car since he was 18, bought it from a doctor who had only put 15k miles on it......now he is selling it to me for 1800 because it needs a new gas tank, and he no longer has the time to work on it.....

just thought id say hello and see if anyone had anything to say...also if anyone knows where i could get a gas tank, or if another one could be sub-ed in???? well let me know

sounds like a heck of a deal, on the gas tank I don't thik anyone produces new ones, I think you'll have to clean and seal the existing tank or get a better used one, I still recmoned cleaning and sealing it, MSA, (zcarparts.com) sells new and used parts so if there si a new one they will know and if not they can sell you a good used one

no, you just have to figure it out based on documentationa dn condition, my car showed 80 k documented origional, but the condition showed otherwise, pedals and steering wheels are grear wear indicators

has anyone tried putting an s13 gas tank into an S30? I got one for free and am about to drop my old leaking tank out and attempt to put it in.

idk about the 240 gas tank....but i found a place near by that will acid dip the tank and fix any holes for about $100 so i cant beat that.....

just to let you guys know i brought it home the other day....i was wrong about the year it is a 78 and i have all of the original paper work...from the importation papers from when the car was actually imported in to the us....to the dealer invoice papers...the original window sticker showing all of the options.... and the original mpg estimate paperwork.....

i dropped the tank today and changed the oil and im polishing the valve cover....just to give me something to do while the gas tank gets repaired.....

alright guys....i got the gas tank repaired and installed and the car starts and runs beautifully......since the pictures ive taken off the front bumper and shaved off the rear bumper and i also polished the valve cover...and stripped and truck lined the rear hatch area and got rid of the wood stuff......i was also curious if anybody was interested in the stock spare, the tire inflator tank thingy, or the wood that covers the spare......anybody interested let me know....
