We will see how long it takes before the world population gives in. I estimate 3 minutes.

No Wifi system uses satellites, unless you REALLY stretch the definition of wifi. 3G/4G uses towers too, and where there's towers, there is a network that can be powered down.Chaotic_Warlord wrote: How does one accomplish shutting down the Internet and SMS? Wouldn't this shut down television and radio too since no one uses RF and radio signals anymore except for government and military communications through walkie talkies? I understand that in Egypt and most other countries the interwebz and phone signals are controlled to a point by the government, but it's not like you can just hit a switch, there are enough WiFi and 3G/4G systems out there that use satellites and open air signals that you can still get onto the internet or send a text message. How else are these youtube videos of the situation over there being posted.
I'm sure Al Jazeera and the insurgents are having a field day with this since Egypt is the most westernized country in the middle east next to maybe Dubai or isreal.
Yeah its sad. I went to Egypt in 2007, and have been to a lot of the places in that video. Egypt has a pretty decent military, but I do hope the people win this one.USMCgetsome wrote:i like that video RCA put up. That guy at the end saying we will be heard and have our god d--n rights. They are one the best equipped and best trained military forces in the whole region, out shined only by the Israeli's and Saudi Arabia. More than 1/2 of it's vehicles and equipment is from the U.S. the other large distributor of it's arms is from the Soviet Union. They are currently under a massive Modernization program and are rapidly replacing a lot of there PRC and USSR supplied equipment with current generation US, British, French and some Russian equipment. They are one of the few countries in the world to have a license to manufacture their own M1 Abrams and have one of the largest inventories of F16's and C130's in the world.PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:Yeah its sad.
