Does any off you guys run a EGT gauge on your CA18DET?If so, where do you have the probe plumbed and what is the safest cruise EGT and full load EGT's

the best place for the egt gauge is the main collector on the exhaust manifold right before the turbo. this location will be about 50 degrees cooler then the individual runners before the pipes join into one. i've also heard of some people using aircraft egt guages and puting 4 probes, one directly after each cylinder.

mines on the # 4 runner.. it takes readings fromt the # 4 cylinder.. as thats the hottest cylinder therefore a good indicator of temp fluxuations

I had an air/fuel sensor on each cylinder's runner, if I was going to mount just one gauge I would say go with the hottest cylinder.
