1600F is pretty hot. But I've heard of hotter. Those cars had problems though. Maybe up fuel or think about taking some more measures before running that hard again or harder. You'll get away with it for a little while if your rings hold out.

EGT's are not a perfect science. It can mean a lot of things. But it's great to have as hotter EGT's tend to indicate the possibility of a lean mixture. 900 degrees Celcius is what a lot of tuners aim for. Slightly less if they want to be safer. I'm not sure what it works out to in Farenheit though...
