"EGRC Solenoid Valve" Vacuum hookup question

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

SO, we have been having some troubles with our '99 Sentra and I was inspecting all the engine parts/tuning it up on my own. I was noticing that ALL of the vacuum lines are all haphazardly going everywhere through the engine, so it looks like the previous owner definitely had to disconnect and re-run them.

Everything looks like it is right according to the diagram under the hood, except one thing. The diagram shows three connections to the throttle body vacuum hookup that is on top of the throttle body.

In my car, there are only 2 devices connected to that hookup, and a third line that is mysteriously capped on the end of one of the three metal vacuum line tubes that go over the throttle body. The missing link is the "EGRC Solenoid Valve." The "EGRC Solenoid Valve" in my car is actually connected to another hookup underneath the throttle body, directly under where the air intake from the air filter box enters the throttle body. I can't see under there to see if it's actually a legit connection...or just a vacuum hose stuck on some screw or something. So, does anyone know if that is the correct spot to hook up the "EGRC Control Valve's" vacuum line to the throttle body?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Grab the FSM from the link in my signature, it'll have more in-depth routing.

Without a picture it's hard to diagnose this. It *sounds* like the previous owner disconnected the EGR. Are you getting an SES/CEL light?

No, there is no CEL. I can take a pic tomorrow, but here is a more simplified question: Is there a vacuum line hookup on the 1.6L 1999 Sentra engine that is on the bottom of the throttle body right under where the air intake enters it?

The EGR is hooked up there, but the diagram under the hood LOOKS like it should be hooked up on the plain-view throttle body vacuum hookup that's on the top left of the throttle body (when looking into the engine from the front)

I still have not figured this out. Anyone with a '99 Sentra (or same 1.6L engine), do you know if there is a vacuum line that comes from under where the air intake enters the intake manifold, or throttle body? OR, does the EGRC valve's vacuum line come from the vacuum connection on top left (passengers side) of the throttle body?
