EGR Valve (Searched)

Hey would anyone be able to tell me where to locate the EGR Valve on my 93 S13 and the Correct steps on how to clean it. Someone said to use break fluid... I just want to clean this thing off and set it back in.

Cleaned the iacv car idles better but now im off to check the EGR need some help on how to do it.

look at the right side of the engine you will see a 1 inch diameter pipe connected to the exhaust--follow it up to a round looking valve --that is it. when they fail it is because they get clogged up with sooty, black junk--it is really hard to properly clean one out. they also go bad because of the little diaphragm stops working--if yours is bad I would get another rather than trying to clean it.

or depending on your local emissions regulations you can just remove it....and plug the openings of course

I removed mine and welded the opening from exhaust header and the engine itself.

Well I live in toronto so our emissions laws are just as bad as california Im sure it wont pass emissions if I rip the EGR out...

Get one of those vacuum testers and see if you can get it to function. When the motor is running --actuate the valve and the motor should die down a bit. if it is working as soon as you release it it should return o normal.
