So, I recently bought a 4-1 racing header(eBay knockoff), for my 95 240. The problem is, I can't get my EGR Tube to unscrew from the old manifold, because I rounded the nut off trying to get it off with a pair of channel locks. My question is, can I just cut the EGR Tube off from the old header and then plug it some how?

insert a nickel into the header hole before rethreading the egr tube back on. If you cut it then the gasses wont escape through the cut tube.

It will not function properly if you cut the tube and leave the hole open. You'll run rich and have a major exhaust leak. Just bend the tube so it meets up with the threads and thread the thing in there.

get a an assortment of wrenches and use PB before you go at it. I think I used an adjustable open ended wrench.

Don't you need to take the manifold off the plug it with the nickel? I double this guy wants to do that.

What I did for a temporary fix was cut it and then put a high temp hose on one end and plug it with a bolt on the other

Rigged up much? Yup. Better then a loud a** exhaust leak? Yup.

Otherwise unless you have the intake manifold off...your kinda in a pickle.

Thanks for the help everyone. I just decided to do what S13xCrazy said. I cut the EGR tube, took the old header off and got the other half out from the old manifold, threaded it into the new header, and then used some scrap hose to clamp on each side. I was out til' 1:00 doing that in the rain last night, don't feel to good now
