was wondering if it would hurt to leave my egr tube open istead of screwing it into the exhuast manifold or header. i think id like to plug the header and leave the egr tube open , so it doesnt suck in hot air , is it bad to leave the egr tube open?

yes if the other end(egr valve) is still functional. every time it operates you will have a huge vaccum leak. disconnect the vaccum line to the egr to stop it from opening. but be aware this will trigger a check engine light.

yes there is minimal a/f ratio changes when egr and evap operate. but may not be enough of a change with the turbo installed to physically notice it.
