After doing quite a bit of research on the ideas behind the EGR system delete most of the articles mention that the computer will recognize that the emissions equipment is not operating correctly and you'll run into quite a few problems.

On the 1UZ EGR delete kit it includes resistors to trick the ECU into thinking everything is working properly. Is this something that could be programmed into an ECU (Elwesso?), add resistors in, or not worry about it at all and deal with the check engine light?

I believe wes can tune the ecu to delete egr and tcs as well if your donor has tcs. Im not sure if he tuned out tcs or just swapped my tcs with a non tcs ecu. I am pretty sure he can just set the egr parameters in the ecu though.

The cel on the ecu from deleting the egr shouldn't cause any timing or fuel issues though but I could be wrong.

actually on the earlier ones it wont throw a CEL if you have the little EGR solenoid hooked up (whihc is about the size of one of those small staplers)... You could probably just close the circuit or put a resistor in there too.

I also can reprogram ECUs to ignore the EGR.

Thanks Wes. By early do you mean 90-93? The ECU I've got on hand right now is off a '95.
