Is it true that circumventing the EGR system will lend more power? I have to fix part of it anyways for emissions but in the course of my research I found out a lot more about it, and I'm thinking of circumventing it after my inspection.
Since what it does is recirculate a small portion of exaust gas back into the intake system, it should lessen the power output of the enigne a little, right? I was thinking of just plugging the vacum setup that operates the system after my inspection, to get a little more power out of the car, and it because it really serves no purpose (it reduces NOx but at the same time increases carbon emissions).
I was wondering mostly if anyone else has bothered with this and what the results were.
