I have a California model 2000 Frontier Crew Cab 6 cyl 4X4. While inspecting the vacuum lines today, I noticed that I don't have an EGR Solenoid Valve nor the lines connected to it. Does anyone know if the California models are not equipped with this? Thanks.

EGR usually isn't a CEL item... maybe it was by 2000?

Does the valve open when you rev the engine? You should be able to fee the bottom of it lift and flutter a little at about 2000 RPM.

u are incorrect! the egr is definitely a cel item... not for the function of the egr but the egr temp sensor... if the temp sensor does not read the correct temp of incoming egr gas's it throws a code.. so if the egr is not working properly the temp sensor is not reading correctly and throws a code.... this occurs on all nissan vehicles starting in 96 and some pre 96... i know this for a fact because i always delete the egr and until recently i wasn't able to get the light out... but i now know a trick to delete egr and turn off the cel..
