ok, so im about to have do my emissions and i have a damn CEL. When i pulled the codes it was the EGR solanoid/Valve code and the Knock sensor code. im not to worried about the knock sensor code cause i can fix that one no problem, my only concern is the damn EGR code. How the ***** can or do i fix it and where is that SH*T located. any input would be most helpful being as i have to get emissioned in less than a month. thanks

THe knock sensor is harder than changing out the egr valve. It's located right behind the intake manifold nearing the firewall. It looks like a mushroom, basically underneath the top hat is a diaphram (you can push up and should hear some noise)usually this stops working or there is a hole in a vacuum line which throws the code. Those are the things to check also you may be able to clean out the egr valve w. some cleaner and see if that works sometimes there is buid up inside.Just don't spray near the diaphram its rubber will deterioate. The KS is a pita, I gave up on it for now, I relocated the KS to the front of the block where the ks harness was held on by a bracket.I tried my best at it bought the swivel the angle on getting at the ks is unbelievable.

EGR will be on the intake manifold somewhere. I don't own a KA so I'm not sure. Sometimes there can be carbon buildup in them causing the valve not to shut all the way. Sometimes you can clean them up.

EGR is easy to change. It's on the front of the engine near the intake mani. Took me about 2 mintues to change. I'll take a pic if you need me too...

EGR is on the backside of the intake manifold.
