Edit: There's a good reason why that sensor is there to begin with. The part is $125 new, and requires a 14mm sensor socket which could be made with a grinder to remove/install. I bet you could get a working one for under $20 at a local junk yard.
That sensor is intended to go off when the EGR system fails, letting you know that you're constantly recirculating -- or not recirculating exhaust gases. Bypassing it like this could make it difficult to diagnose idle and bogging issues.
That said...
You have a big fat connector right above your throttle body. You can trace the harness under the intake manifold, and just before it disappears under the bottom, it should branch off and have a connector.
That should go to a sensor that is bolted down to the top of the lower plenum between the second and third runners. You may need to move the fuel delivery and return lines to get at it.
A real clean job would be done as described above.
To more easily track down where things are, I suggest grabbing a Factory Service Manual (FSM).
