2000 i30t 121,000mi well maintained (except no coolant or tran flush for 60K)Hi everyoneJust last week had my EGR valve replaced(top was missing?fell or popped off?)

My problrm is that it seems i am now leaking engine coolant[slowly ]

I could smell it for a couple of days, finaly looked under the hoodsmall amount on the top of the EGR valve, and coolant level was just below the fill line, and a small puddle under car.

I believe that maybe the mechanic did not properly re-attach a line when he had to move things to get to the EGR.

My question is: what should I tell the mechanic when I go there tomorrow? You see I am not even certain the two are related, because I can't figure out if any hoses around/above the EGR carry coolant. Thanks,Emile

I do not recall any coolant or bypass hoses in that area. Seems kind of weird. I would not recommend a trans or coolant flush. Maybe replace the trans filter and fluid, but no flush. Same with the coolant. Drain it, replace the thermostat, and replenish the fluids. Give that a shot.
