EGR question

What would be the advantages and disadvantages of removing EGR from my KA24DE?

I need to replace the valve but I'm thinking it might be less of a hassle to just block it and weld the pipe on the exhaust manifold.

you'd fail emmisions when u get an inspection if u take it off. no real advantages of losing it that i can think of.

What about disadvantages? Lower fuel economy?

replace the egr and check for vacuum leaks.Your car will run better and its not that big of a deal to change it.It you completely remove it you have to take off the upper intake to remove the butterflies.You decide on how much time you wanna spend on it.I have a bad egr on my car takes 5minutes to replace it and she will run as good as new.
