my 90 240sx have a egr solenoid under the coolant temp sensor.... but the wire is disconected..... if this solenoid are not conected, will it affect my car? ... this solenoid is near to the alternator!!! i hope yuo help me!! thanks .....
when i bought my car, the guy i bought it from gave it to me, but you can pick one up at a nissan dealership.
the egr (exhaust gas recirculation) puts exhaust back into the intake manifold. what this does is it lowers the combustion temperatures, witch in turn lowers the ammount of NOx. having a low amount of NOx is a requirement here were i live, i dont know about your area, check your local laws. it should not affect your power or mileage unless it causes your engine to run rich.
