So what do I do with the metal pipes that are part of the EGR? If I'm doing the delete do I just get rid of them totally and completely??

well you put a pipe plug in the hole where the pipe attaches to the exhaust manifold, and you can make ro buy plates to bolt over the holes where the egr tubes go into the plenum, or you can tap those holes for a pipe plug as well fi you are taking the plenum off anyway, then you just need a vac tube cap for the vac line

I have the EGR delete kit from Z1, so I just block off the egr pipe holes and then take the metal pipes off as well as the EGR and put the pipe plug in? Correctivo?

the "kits" include a pipe plug for where the pope comes out of th eexhaust manifold, and 2 plates the bolt over the holes in the bottom of the plenum where the erg tubes lead and a vac nipple to cover the vac line source that leads to the erg valve

?? you don't need to pull the trans or take off the egr to replace the injectors

Yah I know but I stripped one of the 4 bolts that connect the EGR pipes to the plenum.. so I hacked thru the pipe in order to get the plenum off.. and because of that little action.. I have to do an EGR delete :S sigh* I've been working on this car for almost a month with no sight of the light at the end of the tunnel :(

Well the problem with the egr in my car was that it was very clogged after I took the pipes off.. so it's probably good to get rid of it?

there si no benefit to removing the egr other than it's easier to get the plenum off

if the egr tubes are clogges you either replace them or clean them out

Well yah I'm planning on upgrading the fuel injectors before this winter.. so the easier to pull the plenum the better. :) I'm looking at getting the 740cc's and probly the upgraded fuel rail and ECU upgrade as well. I still have to do the throttle body water bypass as well but I'm getting some help tomorrow so hopefully I can work on taking the transmission off while my extra help works on the hoses for the TB bypass.

If you're removing the lower manifold (for machining new style into old style lower plenum) you need to remove the EGR.

he said he was replacing so I assume it would be stock for stock, and who would machine their lower intake when they can use adaptors, and if you are gonna go throught he trouble of removing the intake manifold you might as well swap to the new style manifold and probably spend less than machining the old one ;)

Well I was talkin to BigTDogg and I wanna try to get my 300 up to about 450 or so hp? It might take a few months but I'm hoping to get that done before winter sets in new injectors as well as turbos. We'll see, one step at a time.
