Hey guys. I've been here for a while but I'm new to the quest section. I received a 2000 quest from my girlfriends parents about a month ago. They gave it to us just after they had a mechanic fix the ac and motor mounts. About a week after we received it we noticed it getting warm. We filled it with water and coolent and kept an eye on it. I noticed it had a small water but couldn't pinpoint it. We kept refilling the water about once a week to keep it from getting warm until I had some time off to look at everything a little closer. Today I pinpointed the source of the leak. About center of the engine on the back side on the top there's a hose running into the egr system. It's a medium size hose and you can barely see where it clamps on from the top. There's a metal panel held down with 2 bolts just above it to the left where there are 2 smaller vacuum lines and a power connector attached to.

Does anyone know why the egr system would have water in it. It's not really a steady stream of water, it's more like sputtering water from the hose where it clamps on. There's no crack and the hose is tight but I'm assuming it's leaking from there because it's meant for air and not water. This one has me stumped.

I took a look at the oil and it doesn't seem like there's water mixed with it. I read a few things online like it could be a faulty egr cooler but I'm not sure if the quest has one? Also read it could be a blown head gasket but I think that would mean water would be mixing with the oil. We plan on taking it back to the mechanic soon. Maybe he messed up on something or didn't connect something when working on the motor mounts.
