The EGR system on the T33 is a complicated animal, it has its own cooler and doesn't function on/off above a certain RPM like traditional EGR's. It actually meters the flow of exhaust gas and needs calibration in order to do its job. We've admittedly replaced a lot of valves and coolers. The trouble is, the complexity means it isn't easy to isolate the source of a failure and you need a very serious scanner to do any serious diag on them. For a typical DIYer, the best advice I can offer if you get an EGR code, replace the valve, cooler, gasket, and screen out of hand and let someone with a high end shop scanner (or the dealer) calibrate your work.
