Hey guys, last night i noticed some white smoke coming from my car once it warmed up and freaked out. Checked the oil, no blown gasket. So i brought it to a mechanic and found out it is throwing a P0400 code - EGR flow malfunction.

What im confused about is that while reading up on it, i read that it is

1. clogged egr just needs cleaning2. the tube the connects the EGR to the plentum needs cleaning3. new gaskets

This is saying that i dont need a new egr, just some cleaning.

Does this mean that i dont need a new EGR valve?

Also, is there anything else that must be cleaned?

In as straightforward was as possible, what must be done to fix the egr flow problem?

Many thanks.

Clean the valve and chek the tube to the exhaust, and clean it also if required.

If the passage into the plenum is clogged, the only way to clean it is to remove the plenum, which means you get to do the under plenum hose job. More reading will be enlightening.
