Hello gents,

its been awhile since ive been on. its been awhile since my fairlady saw the road.

i broke a rod or a wrist pin and thus got a new block. a buddy had one laying around so theres that. well to make a long story short: i deleted my egr and now im having lots of problems with her. she starts right up everytime and it seems fine until its under load. then the bogging out starts. once in a while it feels like its goin about 50% but not normally. i have to feather the gas so it accels, otherwise it aint going nowhere.

i know the egr kits come with a bolt for the exhaust mani and the block off plates and then theres 2 vacuum hose caps. im not sure which ones to block off. theres more lines that these hoses T into and im cunfussed.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do a boost leak test (intake pressurization), it's the best way to find all leaks.

ok, so i looked over that very helpful info on that link and refigured some of my vacuum lines. i also bought a 68k resistsor and that took care of my CEL.

before i installed the resistor i read my ecu codes. it read 34 and 35. i unplugged my batt for a while then installed the resistor and now no more CEL. but the original problem persists! still boggin out and still idling really low and even shutting off sometimes.

ive noticed my dash lights up sometimes. its the headlight/highbeam light, the door light, brake light and sometimes the abs also. i am aware that if the car dies the lights will light up. i notice this is the case when the car wants to die but cant due to it being in gear and moving. but theres times the lights come on while driving, though it might just be due to bumps in the road and a short somewhere in my lighting. i checked the batt with a volt-meter and its at 11.78 with car off and at 13.47 or so with car on. i figure this is fine. alt seems to be workin fine and it does fire right up every time. i did tighten my alt belt and no more chirping at all.

whats the best/easiest way to do a boost leak-down test on the NA? sorry im sounding like a noob here... i am new to the Z32. thanks again to all.

i'm pretty sure the code 34 is the knock sensor. maybe this could be the problem. i've heard when this goes bad it retards the timing and this could be the bogging and rough idle....not really sure what you can do to diagnose it you might be able to advance the timing a lil and see if it still does it. not really a z32 expert myself but i hope this helps. i may sound completely stupid tho lol
