I just tried to install my header when I tried to take off the EGR tube I stripped out the nut thingy. I also noticed that there is a crack in the tube itself right where the first bend is from the manifold. My questions are: Do I need to replace the whole tube with the crack? How much do I need the EGR? I have seen the Atlanta guys have some EGR kit how much are those and where do I get one? Is it the pain in the butt as it looks to get to on the intake side, I'm thinking 2 bottles of malt liqour, half a bottle of tums, and a bar of soap to wash my mouth out with. Any input will help thanks in advance.

Sorry guys after reading through the forums I see half you guys don't have your EGR hooked up. How would I go about disabling my EGR, does it effect HP or TQ? How about overall performance, what can I expect to happen or are there any long term effects? I've seen some people remove all emissions restricting stuff mind you in Florida they are pretty lenient on emissions but I am moving to Texas in about six months, can I just leave it off or what?

If you want to disable, you can simply disconnect a small rubber hose that connects from the EPT to the EGR valve. This will disable the EGR.

Search on the web what the EGR does and you will find your answer. EGR will make your intake manifold less dirty as less exhaust gas will enter there.
