I have a all stock 1993 S13. I am getting near emissions time again here in Dallas TX. :ohno:

I checked out my EGR system a few week ago and noticed that the car did not stall when I pushed up on the EGR valve. So I took off the EGR valve and bypass tube and made sure everything was clear with no blockage. The little tube that comes off the side of the EGR valve and goes into the bottom of the BPT valve was plugged so I clean it thoroughly. Everything else was clear. So I put it all back together.

What I have noticed is that when I rev the engine the EGR valve does not open unless I unplug the connector on the EGR canister valve locate on the back of the engine. Does anyone know what this is all about?

I have had my car since 1993 and do not believe I have ever done a WOT. LOL

Anyways I just rev it a little and notice the EGR funciosn as it is suppose to between 1500 rpms and 2500 rpms i believe. What I do not understand is why this only happens when the EGR canister valve is unplugged.

the egr valve need vacuum and pressure at the same time to work well
