egr bpt vacuum line is the cause of my check engine light. I'm supposed to get it replaced or something, but I don't want to spend 100+ by letting the dealership do it. Can someone please give me a walkthrough on how to replace it or clean it out. I took a look around and there were a couple of hoses that were router to different places. Also, can someone tell me where to get the replacement part. Visuals would help a lot. Thanks in advance.

my car is a 1990 240sx

Look at the back of your intake manifold. You'll see a saucer shaped thing. Undo the two bolts holding it down. You'll see a hose there that leads down to the EGR. That's the hose that usually gets a hole burned into it.

would be a good idea to clean the little pipe its connected to as well. you want to pull it off to clean it good.

Hey guys,

I had a hole in the hose coming out of the bottom of the BPT saucer. I pulled the vacuum lines on the BPT device and I don't feel ANYTHING. Is there supposed to be a noticeable vacuum??

only under the right conditions. its ported vacuum so you have to be under some load. there is also a solenoid cutting it on and off.
