There's a Nissan part number for a plug that fits in there. Do some searching around. I'm sure its around here somewhere.

DO IT!! remove all that crap, it will not hurt your engine or throw any codes. You can get a egr block off plate on ebay for 10 bucks....the only reason I would say not do it is if you are subject to inspections and emissions tests, you may not pass if you remove it.

this is the way i blocked the header holes. saw or cut both of those pipes about 1 1/2 inches from the nut. weld the pipe shut, and bolt it back on. we did this with a small torch and a metal clothes hanger. i also had the head port welded shut. but this was done with a real welder obviously. ur gonna feel a little kick in the pants when u remove ALL of that crap.

could i just simply screw out the opening for the egr pipe on the header..place some nickels back in there and then close it up? and essentially block the gasses from going back into the intake? or would it run differencelty than removing all the junk?

it'd probably run a lil better once all that stuff's removed. but if you live in a state with more stringent emissions policies, you're much better off cleaning the egr stuff and getting it back on rather than having it pulled and having to put it back on later.

what I did on my car was cut the pipe with a sawzall about 6 inches from the header and hammered a big bolt into it...It worked for a couple weeks until I got my aftermarket headers in...Probably would've worked longer... Just make sure that the exhaust can't get thru the hole... the best way would be to unscrew the pipe from the header and mig weld a bung over it...

OHO! Let me tell you hwo to plug the header!!!

You know the pipe that comes off the header that goes to your EGR? get near the neck of it (where it screws into the header) and cut it through. Then pull the part that screws into the header off of the pipe...

Now this is the expensive part... get yourself a nickel. you might have one in your pocket, but banks have them too. Put the nickel in the hole in the header, then screw in that pipe-fitting (minus the pipe you cut off it) right into it..

Voila! You may smell a little of the nickel's coating when you first get your car up n' running but it will go away in 2-3 minutes.

I did this with the PAIRC and EGR system tubes on my KA24DE. 10 cent upgrades!
