Im buying my friends 240sx today that doesnt run. They guy was supposed to get it fixed then give it to me, but he lost his job and is now selling it to me for cheaper but i gotta get it runnin. His mechanic told him it was the EGR and that it was a major job, but I dont think it is gonna be that bad. Im gonna throw a block off on it now due to money issues. Is this a difficult procedure? Im sure this is a string about this already if somebody would direct me there that would be great too.

From looking at pictures of replacing the EGR Vavle, it looks like it sets right on top of the Manifold, and bolts right off. And that is were the actual Plate goes right? Is there anything that needs to be done with the Backpressure Vavle, the Solenoid Control Vavle, or the Tempature Sensor?

Thanks in advanced for any advice and help.

Pictures would be AWSOME too.

You will need to take apart the intake manifold but it's not too hard. I also removed all the xtra coolant lines(everything that didn't go to the radiator or heater core) you should look into the emiss removal threads. I used the squid egr plate and a nickle tightened into the egr tube exhaust manifold hole but Nissan makes a bung plug.

Did you have to take the throttle Body off and Relieve the Fuel System?

i believe its just two 12mm bolts. i got this off with out pulling anything what so ever. If you have sausage fingers get someone with small hands. makes life a little easier.

LMAO. I am 6'7" but i got piano fingers lol. And I am used to working on Hondas. That is all I have ever owned. Finally upgraded even though she aint runnin. LMAO. I was looking at it and the bolts are clearly visiable without taking anything apart, but it kinda looks like part of the EGRs valve mounting bracket was sandwiched between the Manifold and Manifold Collector. So you did this and didnt take anything apart?

i didnt take the throttle body off, just the cable and you have to take the fuel lines off so yes relieving the fuel is a must. Its very easy to do and once i did it i just pluged my fuel lines with pen caps lol

Won't blocking off the egr raise exhaust temperatures and burn valves?
