Well I got a 1990 fastback KA24E and went to use the search button on EGR removel and as i read I kept seeing something about a block off plate. And I was wondering do the S13 need that or is it just they need those big plugs in the exhaust mani? what would be the outcome of removing the carbon canistar and would it be a wise choice?

You need a block off plate for the intake manifold and you need a plug for the exhaust manifold.

You can get them on ebay. Kinda pricey for what it is though.I made my own out of 1/4" aluminum plate. I used the egr gasket as a template, cut to shape, drilled holes in appropriate locations, and installed with a new gasket. As for the header, I found a big enough bolt to go in, and had the bolt head welded to seal.As for the canister, I did it all in the name of cleanliness. I removed several feet of vacuum tubing, a couple of wire connectors, and generally just cleaned up the engine bay some. This car has yet to throw a cel. I am sure the computer has spit out a couple of codes, but nothing that has been detrimental to the engine. (crosses fingers)Going on about 4 years.

no.

It's still something of a mess,... and I have an aversion to mass ridicule.
