I saw your reply in the other thread where you solved this problem (was the ground to the firewall).

I have had this problem since I BOUGHT the car in the summer of 05, and I've learned to deal with it by disconnecting the negative terminal when I park for awhile. My relay doesn't buzz though, but when I remove the negative, I hear it click, so its safe to say that its stuck closed. Every once in awhile I search, hoping someone comes up with something that will lead me to the solution

Just FYI... I just recently had this same problem. I have a small short or something that results in a slight spark or fizzle type of effect as well as causes my blinkers to flashed acouple times when I connect or disconnect my battery. I needed a jump the other day and when I touched the cables to the battery it seemed to have blown my egi relay. I also had the weird buzzing noise coming from that area. The car wouldnt turn off even with the key completely out of the ignition. I drove around on it for 3 days just disconnecting the battery for long stops.

Just incase this may provide some info for anybody else, the car seems to have fixed itself. yesterday I hooked my battery up and the car wasnt beeping like the keys were in the ignition and the lights on the dash wernt on either. I started the car right up and now the problem is fixed. Im not sure what the problem was or is with this but im guessing if it was a blown relay, it wouldnt have been able to fix itself? Since this, I have started and stopped my car 3 or 4 times successfully with the key.

If this helps anybodies search in finding out what the cause of this may be please post up your resolution as Im sure there is something I should probably check on.

Very odd....

I'm worried that your problem could come back. That's the nature of these intermittent electrical problems. I know mine isnt a bad relay because I switched it with the fuel pump relay (is it the fuel pump? they are both green and identical IIRC) and I still had the same problem. I know it's on that circuit, so I just need to track down a bad ground or something one of these days.
