my car wont start...i turned the key on engine off and tapped the egi relay and it sounded like the fuel system primed it self...then the car started fine...but i think it stays on after i turn the car off because i killed my battery...not too sure but i had my battery charged and the battery was ok...so i put in the fully charged battery and same thing...wont start till i tap the EGI relay, i put a brand new relay in...does anyone else know what else i should check, maybe a ignition switch? not too sure, please help. thanks

Is your starter motor trying to start car? or is it not turning over at all? if not turning over, it could be starter. If it turns over, it might be fuel pump. You should hear the fuel pump in the back hatch come on with key on.

it cranks over but doesnt start, till i tap the egi relay...so when i tap the relay the fuel system primes, and then the car starts...

I think the fuel pump relay is the green relay in the middle. If starter turns over engine, ignition is supplying 12v. Id switch around the 10 amp fuses so that fuel pump has different fuse.

If you have a multimeter, 2 of the egi relay terminals should get continuous 12v while key is "on" postion. One other terminal has to be ground . The ground comes from the computer which is what controls when the fuel pump is on. In other words, the computer controls the fuel pump by supplying ground when it wants fuel pump on.

Anyway, i would guess that one of the wires is loose at the relay.

you might substitute another green relay into eccs relay . just in case the problem is the fuel injector relay rather than fuel pump relay.

To clarify, the egi relay or eccs is the fuel injector relay while the egi pump is the fuel pump relay.
