egi relay problem please help!

i have had this problem for like 2 weeks now and cant figure it out...in order for my fuel system to prim i need to tap the egi relay with the key on engine off...i changed the relay and same thing...any ideas for what to do next thanks

Do you mean egi pump? or egi? replace/substitute both. tap in different spots on relay box to see if you get same effect. You may be affecting adjacent relays or wiring. once primed, does the car run?

egi relay...and yes once the car is primed it will start...

Well, the egi is the fuel injector relay or sometimes called the eccs relay.The most obvious explanation would be loose wire or faulty relay in the area you are tapping. I would scrutinize everything in that relay box. be certain to replace both egi and egi pump relays or switch around to see if symptoms chang. Make sure it is the tapping that it is causing the priming and not elapsed time.
