Not to condone any type of reckless behavior, but I enjoy some friendly competition every now and then, especially on the ride to and from work. Unfortunately, I feel that people (at least in my area) are very reserved when it comes to putting the petal to the metal and having a fun lil race. I almost feel like I have to debadge my A/C and keep it aesthetically stock for the average person to engage me. When I used to have my 03' 3.5se people would love going off the line or gun it down the highway. I guess it was less intimidating?? Don't get me wrong, I'm by no means a "speed demon", but who doesn't like that adrenaline rush every now and then?

sorry for the Jerry Springer "final thought" rant, but do you guys think the A/C is too intimidating for our fellow daily drivers, or is it just me?

You know what... lol... no one really pulls up next to me revvin anymore like they used to. I guess its that nissan-coupes-are-beasts persona that nissans put out lol but all nissans have been somethin to deal with but when you put a little soccer mom stylin on them then everyone thinks they can take you. lol

haven't lost a race yet... I can already feel where this thread is goin... I hope it doesnt...

someone's gonna say... yeah I was in the parking lot and this old lady was gonna turn in front of me and I didn't let her, so I SMOKED HER!

or someone's gonna say... well a viper has 8trillion horse power and an integra has negative 6 horsepower but the viper is heavier so its all about the driver...

or it only counts on the straight away...

or I'll take him on the curves...

LMFAO

but I agree with you man all the way... I love a lil race here and there. any kind.

how childish and immature...

kidding man, i tend to do it occasionally, but i drive a sedan... and there aren't many takers, but the ones that do, they tend to be somewhat surprised. last i tried, it was the new V6 Camry, on local streets. i had a good launch and by the time we hit about 80, i was a good car and a half to two cars ahead.

come to think of it, on the freeway, i've also raced a V6 mustang (no contest actually) and a slightly fixed up (probably just bpu) wrx. the wrx did ok, but it couldn't keep up too well once we past 110 or so...

suffice it to say, it's something a little fun to do once in a while, but in no way do i live my life a quarter-mile at a time (and for those 10 seconds or less... i'm free )

Not a race story per say, but I did pull up to a turbo'd Legacy and gave him a few revs. obviously I'm over matched so I didn't take off fast, but he did.

when he realized I wasn't racing he slowed down and I caught up, so he stomped it again. heard a little bov action, I thought it was funny.

I don't street race, never will, but I like to play around alittle.

Intimidating? not at all, maybe to civics and scions, but its not an intimidating car at all... I think it's because you live in the middle of nowhere MD...

I think we're getting a lil ridiculous with our praise for the A/C... I love it to death also, but its not an intimidating car to other real power cars... IN SOCAL, we see Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis, Lotus, Maseratis, M3's, M6's, etc everyday, so naww, I don't think they are intimidated

lol, best hole in the wall pizza joint in town... I hear they use fake cheese on their pizza, that's why its so cheap. I still love it though.

In any event, I fell like the only takers are highly modded Evo's and Sti's, which always spank me, but I still enjoy myself. btw, EVERY v6 accord coupe I have reved next to never gave me the time of day. A couple of lexus sc430's have been pleasantly surprised tho

over here in fort wash/oxon hill on 210/indian head highway. since it's like a straight way, with barely any cameras. impalas and bikes and mustangs love egging cars at the line. then launch once the light turns green. i guess people get a good feeling knowing that there car is faster because i do. haha but once i save up for a turbo kit. ultimate sleeper! HA!

I'm right on the border of DC, so by no means do I consider it "nowhere" MD, but i agree that it's a different caliber then Socal or South Beach. Obviously, NOT intimidating to the all the cars you've mentioned, but there are far many respectable cars between civics and ferrari's that exist out there

Wait, there are pizza places outside of Chicago? Weird...

I'm with Doc though. I see way too many nice cars on a daily basis to think that many cars on the road would be intimidated by my 3.5 A/C. Now if only I could get one of those cars...

actually the opposite with me..... before i got my exhaust i revd at a STi (for fun) and he just looked at the car for a min and then turned his face like it wasn't worth his gas and sometimes ill try and get some mustangs and camaros to go..... only camaros that do go are usually like 12 sec cars so ya lol i was pretty close with a GTO (i think it was the 350hp 5.7L LS1, not the 400 hp 6.0). must have been a bad driver or something, we went from about a 20 mph roll and when we ended at about 115 MPH he was about 1/2 a car length ahead.... i was happy with that one lol

ya i looked up the 1/4 mile times and they do 13.6. my best time was a 13.9 with no muffler, no back seat, no spare tire lol the way my car with the magnaflow exhaust and my beat seat in the car and spare in the car, i'm about a 14.3 (did a 14.2 with exhaust on and no back seat). so ya, i was really happy when he beat me by 1/2 a car length lol
