Nissan dominates the drift scene - Always has, always will.

a friend of mine runs his altezza with 18in rims all the way around and has trouble getting his rear to kick out alot and is always getting out beat by his sister in her sil80 who runs 17 x 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. he always uses the same excuse that its because of his wheel size. now that sounds like bull**** to me but i dont know much about drifting... so can somebody pleaze clarify whether or not wheel size has an effect on your drift... and if it does have an effect, is the effect profound enough to make a difference on the ease of your drift?

sounds like your friends sister is a better driver....

on a car like a stockish 240sx with a ka and no turbo yeah it will effect the amount of wheel spin as a bigger rim/tire combo will typically weighs more.... and normally has MORE grip. but even then ,no, once the car is sideways it should not matter except for the ease of wheel spin.

drift is more diver skillz then power/tire/suspension... yeah they all help but if the driver sucks you could give him/her a fully built drift car and watch them owncaek a wall.... nick hogan jokes inserted here....

it is simple as get a pair of stellies for his rear and see if he is better with small width/diamiter tiers/rim.... then what can his excuse be.... my front grip is overpowering my rear...

I own and drive both cars, and I'd find it hard to not be able to kick the rear end out in a Altezza even with 18s. Have him try the stockies for the rear and see what happens.
