ive got altima fans and the low setting on each fan is wired up to relays that are switched on by fuel pump relay. if i put the key to ign the fuel pump and fans will run for the 3 seconds then stop. if i turn it on they of course, both go on. when i turn it off however, and my turbo timer kicks in the fans go off but the car still runs. not sure how it does this since the fuel pump relay would have to be energized for the engine to keep running. any input welcome

when i first bought my 92 I wired fans to the pump relay and my engine would run for like 3 seconds after i would shut down. figured out that as the fans were slowing down(after shutdown) they still completed the circuit to the ignition and fuel pump (like an electrical backfeed you could say). remedy was to wire electric fans to a thermo switch (170 F.) and costant duty relay. other (theoretic) way would be a diode in the +12 for the fans but i dont know of any diode that would handle that kind of draw. as for your turbo timer i dont know cause my car is still n/a

also wired electric fans to ign on a carburated camaro i had and it would deisel like crazy on shutdown. again solution was thermoswitch kit. they sell them in summit. hope this adds some insight to your problem.
