hey guys!!

i have a 92 240 hatch with a 95 engine. the previous owner did quite a hack job on the wiring when he rebuilt the motor and i just dont know enough about circuitry to even begin to decipher whats what. well, the other night i was driving along and all of a sudden, the lights get very, very dim (but do not shut off) and the car stalls out. i flagged someone down and they gave me a jump and the car started and ran but the lights were still very, very dim and all the electrical "things" (wipers, lights, radio, yada, yada) in the car seemed to be very underpowered. i have since replaced the battery (which turned out to be defective) and gotten the alternator tested (which seems to be working fine) and there is no change in how the car runs. the only reason why the car runs at all i think is because i have an msd which as some of you may know gets wired directly to the battery. i think that this problem may be the result of a loose ground or bad relay but that is only my uneducated opinion. does anyone have any advice or guidance? if this wasnt clear enough feel free to ask questions.

thanks!!

Always start with grounds, something might just be loose. Check and clean all connections and add a grounding kit.
