I have just acquired the ECUTalk USB cable and software. I am unable to connect to either of 2 ECU's that I have, though the voltages at the right places on both the USB and ECU end are correct. I have been in touch with Peter (ECUTalk, very helpful) but we're at a bit of a dead end. Anyone have any experience connecting to a '94 Q45T? Any tricks or advice to getting the comm right ? (we have confirmed that the USB and serial drivers are OK). Thanks.

My ECUTalk worked without any problems on my 1991 Q45a. Have you ever had a real Consult hooked up to your car? I know other members have had bad Consult diagnostic ports in their cars. Maybe try the cable on another car if you can and see what happens? :gotme

I would suspect your consult connector is the issue as well. I have used multiple consult adapters to connect to my car and use them on the bench for the ECU's I mod as well. I previously owned a 94 Q45a that I could not get to connect with any ECU with a couple different adapters. I also have one of the ECUTalk Consult LCD Display units wired up full time on my Turbo Q and it always works fine.

Check each wire on your consult connector for continuity to the ECU.
