ecu wiring

Is it normal to have what looks to be splicing in the wiring within the red circle? Only aftermarket electronics is a turbo timer that has the correct harness.thanks.

I tore open my ECU this past month to do some stuff and saw that too, I was like wtf has been goin on here.... but realised my car had not been modded before I got it so I was ok with it.

to my recollection I think that is norm, think...
